Volonteering is an activity done free of charge with the aim of helping and supporting other people with difficulties.

Volunteer is a person who does something, especially helping other people, willingly and without being forced or paid to do it.

The HISTORY of VOLUNTEERING
The origin of volunteering can be traced back to 12th century Britain, where there were more than 500 hospitals operated by volunteers.
In the beginning, volunteering was connected to religion.
The start of volunteering is first traceable to the 17th century but started being used in the 18th century when people were joining the military service.
Today, the volunteering is not so much connected with the military service, but with community service and help people in difficult.
